BREVARD
COUNTY PHARMACY ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
Brevard County Pharmacy
Association annually offers scholarships to students from Brevard County
who are attending accredited Colleges of Pharmacy in the state
of Florida. Four $600 scholarships are offered each spring, one $600
recipient for Florida A & M University, Nova Southeastern
University, Palm Beach Atlantic University, and the University of
Florida.
To be eligible to receive the
BCPA Scholarship, a student must meet the following criteria:
Must be a resident of
Brevard County or a graduate of a high school in Brevard County
Must be at least in
their second professional year
Must demonstrate at
least a 2.0 GPA and not be on any form of academic probation
Should follow the
criteria of each school’s financial aid application process and must
ensure that the application is received no later than March 1
A Scholarship Committee for
BCPA will meet in March of each year to review all of the applications
received from the respective colleges of pharmacy. Scholarship
recipients are evaluated and scholarships are awarded based equally on
1) financial need 2) academic achievement and 3) extracurricular
activities. The decisions are then forwarded to the appropriate person
at each of the colleges of pharmacy and the scholarships are typically
awarded at the Spring Awards Banquet for each school.
If you meet the above criteria
and are interested in applying, please obtain a financial aid
application from your college of pharmacy and turn it in according to
their deadline for financial aid. Your college will then forward your
application to BCPA for consideration. We do this instead of having you
apply directly for uniformity of the applications to make it fair for
all applicants. Feel free to copy BCPA when you turn in your application
so we will know to expect it. You may email it to Karen Bills,
Scholarship Committee Chair at kbills@cfl.rr.com
or mail it to Brevard County Pharmacy Association, PO Box 10054 , Port
St. John, FL 32927.
